I took a half day last friday so that I could eat lunch at home with Shane and be able to travel down to Lancaster during the day time and make it to Carol's house in time for a special birthday dinner. I printed out my directions on Mapquest (I'd be so lost if I didn't have that) and was on my way. I was doing great, until someone got into an accident and backed all the traffic up for a few miles.
And then I was on my way and I thought I passed my exit! So I turned around and got off like 3 different exits just to get back on where I was, to realize that I was going the right way after all! Grrr!!! How frustrating! So, finally, a sign for Lancaster!

I still made it just in time for dinner @ 6pm. The table was being set and hot food was ready and smelling scrumptous. I had to take a picture of the table because Carol's Mom was using the tablecloth we got her.
Happy Birthday to Carol!! (I won't tell how old you are...
)
Carol's brother and sister-in-law finally made it and we were able to start eating and enjoying the time together.
Gifts time came around...my gift wasn't anything spetacular, but I put a lot of love into it. I put together a little booklet of memories from when we were roommates in college.
Hopefully new memories never stop being created!
Saturday = another road trip
Here we come Maryland!
Carol and I got the chance to visit our good friend Biz, down where she is interning at River Valley Ranch camp.
It started out really foggy and yucky, but then it cleared up real nice and we could see all the way across the valley.
We weren't sure if we were going to be able to ride the horses because of it being rainy and muddy out, but they let us just ride around inside the "barn" where the horses are kept. We were content with just even doing that, better than not getting to at all! I had such a blast riding! It had been awhile, so I know I looked pathetic, but I enjoyed every minute of it!
So beautiful! But very stubborn as well! So, I swapped and got on Little Thunder, who was a little spit fire! I only had to tap him a little and he just bolted off like he was racing or something! I was most definetely sore and stiff the next morning.
Carol was nervous, but she did just fine...and really seemed to enjoy it too.
There she is! These horses are Biz's babies and she is so in love with what she does that it's so neat to see her working in an area that she is gifted in and absoletly loves!
Sunday
Steve Green Concert
I grew up listening to Steve Green and had been to a concert of his when I was in 2nd grade, so it was so much fun to listen to some of his songs that were so familiar to me and it touched my heart. His testimony is great and he is such a loving and humble man that it was refreshing to be able to see him serving God with his gifts and abilities!
Since Steve Green doesn't travel with a group, he sends his music ahead and lets the church pick out an ensemble to sing along with him during the concert, and Carol was picked to be apart of this ensemble at her church! She was having so much fun and it was neat to see her up there enjoying being a part of this concert.

I was so excited to take a picture with him!
I missed Shane so much and I just couldn't wait to get home and tell him about EVERYTHING!
